It is more difficult to control the behavior of others. It’s best to focus on controlling yourself
4. Value the opinion of all family members and encourage each to join the conversation
Everyone has suggestions but when belittled may not share. Listening does not mean accepting
5. Carve out family time
The family that plays together learns to enjoy one another is a variety of ways. Family time could mean playing games, going to the park or other activity. Keep within your budget and do it regularly.
6. Fight fair
a. Focus on the behavior or problem, not characteristics of the person
b. Limit the discussion to the current problem
c. Fights should never become abusive: physical, emotional, verbal
7. Find the courage to say “I’m sorry”
