Banana tea is said to be a natural treatment for insomnia. I decided I would give it a try. I cut an unpeeled organic banana into pieces and placed in a small pot of purified water. I let the banana boil for a few minutes then poured the liquid into a cup.
Banana tea has a pleasant natural sweet taste. The tea did make me feel relaxed but not particularly sleepy.
Bananas are high in magnesium and potassium, two good nutrients for the heart. I will add banana tea to my list of teas that I use to decrease anxiety and stress. But there are better foods and supplements for inducing sleep.
